The acronym TA stands for Talent Acquisition and is technically seen as a longer-term approach to recruiting than standard Recruitment. A simple way to look at it:

  • Recruitment fills the immediate jobs. Recruitment professionals are typically understood as working externally, or outside the company that is hiring.
  • Talent Acquisition not only fills the immediate jobs but engages in ongoing work over time to ensure that search strategy for future job openings are planned in advance. TA professionals are typically understood as working internally, or inside the company that is hiring.
